Simply go back to View > Hide Path Bar .
Look at the top of any Finder window. See the tiny folder icon next to the window title? show hidden finder link
Click in the menu bar > Show View Options (or press Cmd + J ). Simply go back to View > Hide Path Bar

For a permanent setting, open Terminal and enter: defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles TRUE; killall Finder . Simply go back to View >
to show hidden files and press Enter:
