Introduction

The most controversial change in the release is the introduction of Dynamic Star Decay . Previously, a file’s star rating was static unless manually changed. Now, ShowStars automatically reduces the prominence score of files that haven't been viewed, downloaded, or re-starred within a configurable window (default: 30 days). A file that was once 5 stars might drop to 3.5 stars after 45 days of inactivity. This ensures that "top showcases" always reflect current team priorities. filedot showstars updated
